Olympics: World 400 champion Rawlinson out of Games
Associated Press
SYDNEY, Australia — On the day that 400-meter hurdles world champion Jana Rawlinson officially was selected for her third Australian Olympic team, a toe injury reportedly has ruled her out of the Beijing Games.
Rawlinson, who won world titles in 2003 and 2007, appeared to be on the road to recovery last week when she raced for the first time in nine months in Poland.
But Rawlinson's management team told Australian Associated Press today that Rawlinson would not be going to Beijing due to her injury.
Calls from The Associated Press to Rawlinson's manager, James Ward, were not immediately returned.
