Police arrested a 12-year-old boy on the Fourth of July in Waimanalo for allegedly detonating a homemade explosive device and for possession of two other devices.

The incident was reported Friday at 3:28 p.m.

Police arrested the boy and turned over the unexploded devices to explosive specialists from the Specialized Services Division for disposal. The boy was later released pending further investigation for possible Family Court action.
