Island Insurance has appointed Keane Muranaka assistant vice president, claims supervisor-field unit. He is a former claims manager for National Interstate Insurance Co.

Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has appointed Sandra Sakuma vice president and area office leader for the company's Windward office.

HAWAII MEDICAL CENTER

Dean Pang has been named chief information officer of Hawaii Medical Center and will oversee information systems technology for the hospitals. He has experience in various information systems processes, hardware and software platforms, as well as a variety of operating systems and software applications.

Maria Kostylo has been named chief nursing officer of Hawaii Medical Center East. Previously, she held nursing manager positions in various departments at St. Francis Medical Center and Hawaii Medical Center East.

TROPICAL VILLA VACATIONS

Nancie Brown has joined Tropical Villa Vacations on Maui as director of sales and marketing. Brown previously held the position of director of marketing communications for the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa.

MAUNA LANI RESORT

Vernon Hulihe'e has been named director of international sales at the Big Island's Mauna Lani Resort.

OCEANIC INSTITUTE

The Oceanic Institute has hired Connie Kawamoto as human relations generalist. Kawamoto will handle all human resource administration including recruitment, selection, employee development, compensation, employee relations, HRIS, payroll and benefits administration.

Oceanic Institute has also promoted Chisa Woodley to controller. She will oversee the organization's accounting functions, including preparation of financial statements, development of internal controls and management of the budget.
