Downtown area galleries offer arts-focused evening

Downtown area galleries and studios will keep their doors open late Thursday for an arts-focused evening event.

Participants will include:

  • The ARTS at Marks Garage, 1159 Nu'uanu Ave.; 521-2903; www.artsatmarks.com

    An artists' talk is set for 6-7pm. about the Hawaii Glass Artists 6th Annual Exhibition. There will be an organizational meeting for Hawaii Glass Artists from 7-8 p.m., after the talk.

  • Louis Pohl Gallery, 1111 Nu'uanu Ave.; 521-1812; www.louispohlgallery.com.

    Chinese New Year Artists: Jim Foster, James Dannenberg and Hans Loffel, Jan. 28- Feb. 23 and Feb. 21.

    Conversation with Jim Foster 6-8 p.m.

  • Nu'uanu Gallery at Marks Garage, 1161 Nu'uanu Avenue, 536-9828; www.nuuanugallery.com

    A "Curator Walkthrough" with Deanna Miller, curator of "California Dreamin': LA to HI." Learn about the seven featured painters and their inspirations.

    Walkthrough begins at 6:30 pm. "California Dreamin'" runs through March 1

    The ARTS at Marks Garage is the key community project of the Hawai'i Arts Alliance. This collaborative gallery, performance and office space for businesses and non-profit organizations is working to transform downtown Honolulu with the power of the arts.
