William Maglinty Jr. and Chuck Wheatley were sworn in late last month as the newest members of the Waipahu Neighborhood Board.

Wheatley takes the post previously held by long-time board member Irene Elston, who resigned late last year due to illness.

Maglinty's seat has been vacant for a while.

The board still has four vacancies, one each in subdistrict 7 (the Kahua area), subdistrict 8 (Waipahu Triangle), subdistrict 9 (Waipahu High School - Middle Loch) and subdistrict 11 (Waipi'o Gentry).

Interested parties should attend the board's next monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Filipino Community Center.
