The National Weather Service has issued a short-term weather forecast, saying rain showers will continue to increase across O'ahu through midday today.

Locally heavy rainfall is possible with the showers and may produce ponding of water on roads as well as reduced visibility.

The heaviest showers will be concentrated in the Ko'olau Mountains, forecasters said.

Some of the heavy showers are expected to move across Central and Leeward O'ahu as well.
