Last week's launch of Honolulu City Lights was just the beginning. Tonight, the celebration continues with the seventh annual Kapolei Hale City Lights, complete with a parade, food booths, and Christmas tree display. And it's free.

There's also a Christmas poster coloring contest, and free goodie bags, games and other activities for the kids.

THE SCHEDULE

  • 6 p.m.: The Kapolei Electric Light Parade — including fire trucks, the Honolulu Police Department mobile command center and other vehicles — begins at Kealanani Avenue, turns left on Farrington Highway, continues on Kamokila Boulevard and ends on Ulu'ohia Street.

  • 7:30-9 p.m.: Santa visits.

  • 8 p.m.: Mayor Mufi Hannemann, his wife Gail Mukaihata-Hannemann and guests will light the city's 35-foot tree.

The Nanakuli High School drama class and others will perform throughout the night's festivities.

    The Kapolei holiday display continues from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and 4 to 9 p.m. Saturdays, through Jan. 2.
