A University of Hawai'i janitor has been indicted by an O'ahu grand jury of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in early October.

The indictment accuses Ward Kiyo Gusukuma of two counts of sexual assault in the third degree, one count of attempted sexual assault in the third degree, three counts of attempted sexual assault in the first degree and one count of sexual assault in the first degree.

Gusukuma, 43, of Hawai'i Kai, is accused of having sex with the girl on Oct. 7 or Oct. 8.

The girl told police she had met Gusukuma for the first time on the day of the alleged offense.
