UH-Manoa's Maile Way entrance closing nightly
Advertiser Staff
Starting today, the Maile Way entrance to the University of Hawai'i-Manoa campus will be closed nightly for safety reasons.
The gate will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. During those hours, the East-West Road entrance will remain open.
Today is the first day of fall classes for UH.
The university says the Maile Way gate closure is meant to deter late-night thefts and other problems. The Maile Way entrance will be closed in both directions nightly with the use of pole barriers and warning signs.
