Little League tourney set at Murakami

 •  Stand-up paddling in midst of popular boom

A team from Osaka, Japan, will compete with local youth baseball teams this week in the Little League Senior Goodwill Baseball Tournament at Les Murakami Stadium.

The tournament features a 25-player Osaka team and will be held tomorrow through Sunday, starting from 9 a.m.

Hawai'i teams will be Mid-Pacific, Wai-Kahala/Kamehameha, Kalani, Pearl City, Punahou and Kane'ohe Little League.

Admission is free.

SCHEDULE

SATURDAY

9 a.m.-Osaka vs. Mid-Pacific

12:30 p.m.-Osaka vs. Wai-Kahala/Kamehameha

3 p.m.-Osaka vs. Pearl City Little League

SUNDAY

9 a.m.-Osaka vs. Punahou

12:30 p.m.-Osaka vs. Kalani

3 p.m.-Osaka vs. Kane'ohe Little League

BASKETBALL

3 ON 3 STREET BALL TOURNAMENT ON TAP

The Hawaii Streetball League will start its 3 on 3 tournament series on Sept. 1 at Enchanted Lake Park in Kailua.

The tournament series is an audition for a 20-week Hawaii Streetball League.

Cost is $50 per team. There are divisions for boys and girls from ages 8 to 10, 11 to 13, 14 to 16, 16 to 18 and 18 and above. There are also coed divisions.
