Board of Water Supply crews completed repair work on the sidewalk and roadway of a section of Ward Avenue between Lunalilo and Green streets last night at 9 p.m.

Traffic in the area was being contraflowed for several hours.

The damage was caused earlier yesterday when the Honolulu Fire Department accidentally broke a valve while trying to shut off water to a nearby damaged hydrant. The valve was repaired and water service restored by 2:30 p.m.
