Showcase 2008, the Honolulu Academy of Arts' annual food-and-wine fundraising event, heads south for an evening in old Louisiana at 6 p.m. Sunday. Top Honolulu chefs (Chai Chaowasaree, Ronnie Nasuti and Kevin Hanney) will prepare interpretations of Creole and Cajun cooking; Kevin Leong Quartet and DJ G-Spot will bring on the sounds of jazz and zydeco. PREPARE A SUPERB DINNER
Want to learn to cook like a foodie? Every second Thursday of the month, chef Elmer Guzman will teach 16 participants how to whip up a meal to remember. An appetizer of chicken summer roll with lemongrass dipping sauce, entree of miso crab-glazed Island fish with choi sum and caper sauce and dessert of sundried blueberry and banana bread pudding are on the menu for the dinner class, at 6 p.m. tomorrow, at Servco Home & Appliance Showroom, in Mapunapuna.
