Warning signs of a shark sighting were posted today at Magic Island as a precaution based on a free diver's report.

City Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services personnel inspected the diver's bag and confirmed it was attacked by a shark, said Bryan Cheplic of the city's Emergency Services Department. The signs were posted at 2 p.m. to ensure public safety, Cheplic said. The situation will be evaluated tomorrow morning, he added.

There were no closures, Cheplic said.
