QINHUANGDAO, China (— Defender Lori Chalupny has been ruled out of the U.S. women soccer team's match against Japan on Saturday.
Chalupny, a regular starter for the U.S. women's team, had to be replaced in the Americans' opening 2-0 loss to Norway. She's suffering from dizziness and blurred vision after colliding with U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo in the 2nd minute.
Team officials decided to keep Chalupny out against Japan as a precaution. She will be reevaluated in the coming days to determine whether she will be fit for the team's final Group G match against New Zealand on Tuesday.
