HAWAI'I KAI

Advertiser Staff

The Rotary Clubs of Hawai'i Kai and Kahala Sunrise teamed up recently to collect more than 1,200 pounds of school supplies and more than $400 in cash to help needy children go back to school.

All supplies were donated to the schools in the Kaiser complex and Holy Trinity School in East Honolulu.

Henry deButts, president of the Rotary Club of Hawai'i Kai, described the event as "very successful."

"The members of Kahala Sunrise Club made the effort a lot more fun," he said. "We enjoyed meeting their volunteers and talking story while working."
