Parker shoots 6-over-par 76 at PGA Championship

Fresh off of his first PGA Tour victory that earned him a spot in the final major of the season, Honolulu's Parker McLachlin shot a 6-over-par 76 today in the first round of the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills in Bloomfield Township, Mich.

Starting on the 10th tee, McLachlin opened with four consecutive pars.

On the par-4 14th hole, the Punahou alum had a bogey, then followed with a double bogey on the par-5 15th and another bogey on the par-4 16th. After another par on No. 17 (par 3), he closed out his first nine with another bogey on the par-4 18th.

McLachlin made par on the first seven holes of his second nine, then bogeyed the par-4 eighth hole. He closed out his round with another par.

Robert Karlsson and Jeev Milkha Singh are the clubhouse leaders at 2-under par, with several players still on the course.

Hawaii's Dean Wilson even through one hole.
