Taste of Kapolei set for Oct. 4

Ko Olina Taste of Kapolei to be held Oct. 4 at Ulua, the fourth lagoon of the Ko Olina Resort & Marina, will feature food from 20 restaurants and a fireworks display.

The benefit event for Kapolei Rotary Club scholarships and other charities is scheduled for 5:30 to 9 p.m. In its ninth year, the event has a new signature sponsor in Ko Olina resort, said event chair Sonya Mendez.

"And we are extending our list of beneficiaries to Ko Olina charities and community and educational programs serving the Leeward Coast," Mendez added.

Participating restaurants include Assaggio Kapolei, Beach House at the Moana, Compadres Bar and Grill, Creations in Catering, Da Spot, Dave & Busters, Don Ho's Island Grill, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Hapa Grill, Hong Kong Harbor View Restaurant, Hooters, JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa, Japanese Restaurant Hana Sushi, Kolohe's Bar and Grill, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Thai Kitchen, Top of Waikiki, and Zaffron Restaurant.

Advanced discounted tickets priced at $70 per adult and $30 per child between ages 7-12 are available through Sept. 15 online at hawaiisbesttickets.com or by calling 545-2772, Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., beginning Friday, tickets can be purchased at the Chevron Kapolei and Chevron Beretania stations.

The price of tickets goes up $5 for adults and children on Sept. 16.

Checks for the tickets should be made payable to Rotary District 5000 Foundation.

Special preferred seating for sponsors and groups is also available. A table of ten seats may be purchased at $1,500, $3,000 and $5,000 levels.
