College Connections Hawaii (CCH), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students have increased access to quality educational opportunities, is offering free and reduced-priced SAT and Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) preparation classes this summer., according to a news release.

The SAT examination tests critical reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning. Many colleges and universities use SAT scores as a factor in admissions decisions. The SAT exam is typically taken by high school students in fall of their senior year or spring of their junior year. For a limited time only, the Hawaii Department of Education is sponsoring classes free-of-charge for qualifying students.

The SSAT exam is administered to students, in grades five through ten, seeking admission to private secondary school. Many of Hawaii's private schools use SSAT results as part of the data on which they base admissions decisions. CCH's SSAT prep classes are limited to seven or fewer students to ensure maximum instructor-student interaction.

By joining College Connections Hawaii's test preparation classes, students greatly increase their chances of enhancing their performance on the SAT and SSAT examinations. The objectives of these classes are to help students become more confident in their test taking abilities, familiarize them with the SAT and SSAT exams structure and content, and increase proficiency in math, critical reading, and writing test-taking strategies.

Classes are currently scheduled to take place at Waianae High School, McKinley High School, Farrington High School, Kohala High School, Honokaa High School, and College Connections Hawaii.
