Stanford stops UH, 10-8, for third place in MPSF water polo

Second-seeded Stanford scored the last three goals to defeat fifth-seeded Hawai'i, 10-8, to capture third place at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo championships today at San Diego.
Stanford is 25-4. The Rainbow Wahine (20-10) will wait to see if they receive an at-large berth to the eight-team NCAA Tournament, May 9 to 11 at Stanford, Calif.
Lauren Silver, who scored to give Stanford a 9-8 lead in the fourth period, led the Cardinal with a hat trick. Kelly Mason, Angela Turnbull and Leonie Van Der Molen each scored two goals for the Rainbow Wahine.
