They were the University of Hawai'i's Fab Five — the quarterback and the four receivers who helped lead the Warriors to a 12-0 regular season and a berth in the Sugar Bowl.
But only one was selected today in the two-day, seven-round NFL draft.
That was Colt Brennan, who was picked in the sixth round by the Washington Redskins.
The four UH receivers — Ryan Grice-Mullins, Davone Bess, Jason Rivers and C.J. Hawthorne — were not drafted.
Grice-Mullins, Bess and Rivers had outside chances of being drafted.
Grice-Mullins elevated his chance at the UH Pro Day April 1 by running a 4.33 40.
But after 252 selections over two days, many Hawaii players were passed over.
Former Waimea High and Colorado star Jordan Dizon, an all-Big 12 linebacker, was the first player with Hawai'i ties selected. He was picked in the second round by the Detroit Lions.
The last player in the draft — labeled Mr. Irrelevant — was Idaho linebacker David Vobora.
