Tree-planting tomorrow at Nanakuli Elementary

Advertiser Staff

Nanakuli Elementary School will gain an "outdoor classroom" tomorrow morning for a tree-planting ceremony on campus.

The event is part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's week-long conference in Hawai'i to bring education leaders from across the country to the Leeward Coast.

Nanakuli residents and school personnel will present cultural activities such as chanting and storytelling.

The celebration is being co-sponsored by INPEACE (Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture), a Native Hawaiian organization that serves the Wai'anae Coast.
