Library offers tour of noted Aiea watercress farm

'Aiea Public Library will host a free tour of the Sumida Farm in 'Aiea Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

David Sumida of Sumida Farm Inc., one of the largest watercress farms in Hawai'i, will conduct the tour and discuss how his family has grown watercress since the 1930s.

Registration is required for the tour, which is limited to 50 participants. No walk-ins will be allowed. The Friends of the Aiea Library, which is sponsoring the program, will provide refreshments and a complimentary bunch of watercress per family. Participants are advised to bring their own sunscreen, hat, umbrella and drinking water.
