Big Break Ka'anapali premiered this week on the Golf Channel. The ninth installment of the reality series was shot on Maui. A dozen women are competing for an exemption to the 2008 Navistar LPGA Classic.

The series will be shown Tuesdays through July 1, at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Hawai'i. The premier will be re-broadcast Saturday (9 a.m., 2 p.m.,10 p.m.), Sunday (10 a.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m.) and Tuesday (3 p.m.).

The winner of the July 1 finale will also have all entry fees to play on the 2009 Duramed Futures Tour waived and receive an Adams Golf endorsement contract, which includes $10,000. She also gets a BMW Z4 Coupe.

Five former Big Break participants have been LPGA members. This year's cast includes Susan Choi, the only amateur, Sophie Sandolo, an Italian model, and 40-year-old Dana Bates.

The series showcases golfers competing in a variety of challenges to test physical skills and mental toughness.

PLAY GOLF AT KO OLINA

The Aloha Section PGA's Play Golf America Day will be at Ko Olina Golf Club on April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free and activities are available for all ages, along with free food.

Instruction will be offered by John Lynch and Kevin Ralbovsky, who have both been section Teachers of the Year, and Ko Olina teaching pro Tommy Hines. Another 30 pros will give "one-point" lessons and free club-fittings. Callaway, Titleist, TaylorMade, Nike, Cobra and Ping will have demo clubs, and games and prizes will be available, including a $10,000 Putting Competition.

KONA ENTRIES AVAILABLE

Entry forms are out for the 2008 Kona Open, presented by Kuma Contracting and Shell Vacations.

The tournament will be May 24 and 25 at Kona Country Club's Ocean and Mountain Course. Jarett Hamamoto won the 2007 title.
