Dinner will honor 'O'O winners

The Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce has named Peter Apo and Nake'u Joel Awai winners of this year's 'O'O Awards.
Apo is a founding member of the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association and is its director of culture and education. He also is a noted Native Hawaiian cultural expert, musician, poet, songwriter and businessman.
Awai is a fashion designer and owner of design firm Nake'u. He is being honored as a role model for young Hawaiian and island designers.
Apo and Awai will be honored at a dinner April 25 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. Proceeds will benefit scholarships and programs for Native Hawaiian youths, entrepreneurs and businesses.

ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK SEMINAR
A seminar on how to do business with the Asian Development Bank is set for April 28 in Downtown Honolulu.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the No. One Capitol District/Hi-SAM-Multipurpose Room, 250 South Hotel St.
Sponsoring the seminar are the Hawai'i Office of International Affairs; Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism; the U.S. Commercial Service; and Lyon Associates.
"This is an opportunity for Hawai'i firms to learn firsthand about consulting and procurement opportunities at the Asian Development Bank," said DBEDT director Theodore Liu.
"For many Hawai'i firms, this will be an excellent opportunity to expand their business through international contracts."
ADB officials traveling to Honolulu for the event include Yinguo Huang, principal procurement specialist; Ignatius Santoso, director of Central Operations Services; and Don Purka, an investment specialist in the Private Sector Operations Department.
HAGADONE ADDS HIGH-TECH PRESS
Hagadone Printing Co. has upgraded its technology with the acquisition of a Hewlett-Packard digital printing press.
The HP Indigo 5500 Six-Color Digital Press and companion near-line UV Coating System represent "a significant investment in the future," Hagadone said in a news release.
"The combination of this digital press and the UV coater will allow us to offer beautiful, vivid color printing to our customers and let them share with us in an ecologically and economically sound sustainability program," said Erin Hudelist, Hagadone's president.
SWINERTON AIDING AT HABITAT HOME
Swinerton Builders Hawaii is donating $2,500 and labor to help Habitat for Humanity Leeward O'ahu build affordable housing.
On Saturday, Swinerton employees will work alongside the Johnson-Ho'ohuli family painting the exterior and interior of their home, which is nearing completion in Wai'anae.
April Ho'ohuli, 50, currently lives in a Poka'i Bay studio with her two daughters, two grandchildren and a niece. She said the new home will allow other members of her family, who have been separated and living with various relatives, to be reunited under one roof.
Habitat for Humanity Leeward O'ahu is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds simple, affordable homes in partnership with low-income families. It is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International.
