Wet Republic: Las Vegas' first ultra pool opens at MGM Grand. Wet Republic has eight separate pools and spas — including two saltwater pools — and six cascading waterfalls. Adjacent to the main pool area, Wet Republic will feature an open-air ultra lounge, a bar, a sundeck that transforms into a stage, a DJ booth and eight state-of-the-art underwater speakers. The space will feature six VIP bungalows, 10 party cabanas, day beds and chaise lounges.
New exhibition hall: Premier Exhibitions with Luxor Resort & Casino will develop a new exhibition complex. The complex is slated to include a new Titanic exhibition with at least one themed bar and restaurant, a "photo op" on Titanic's soon-to-be-constructed ship's bow utilizing a moving lifeboat to gain access, the blockbuster "Bodies" exhibition, and expanded gift shops.
Bellagio: With the induction of Joseph Phillips of Sensi into the Court of Master Sommeliers, Bellagio becomes home to a record 18 sommeliers, four of whom are female. Three levels of training must be completed before pursuing the master sommelier diploma: introductory, certified and advanced sommelier. Candidates must then pass a rigorous three-part exam: written, service and blind tastings.
The Rio's seafood buffet: Las Vegas' only seafood buffet has opened at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino serving seafood from around the world. Sommeliers pair wines to bring out the best seafood flavors.
