NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Scott Spiezio has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving and hit and run charges involving a December car crash in Orange County.
A spokeswoman for county prosecutors says an attorney entered the plea for the baseball player today. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped aggravated assault, assault and battery charges.
Spiezio was ordered to serve three years probation, undergo a three-month alcohol program, attend two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and complete 80 hours of community service.
Spiezio recently agreed to a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves.
