A shear line moving south over all but the Big Island today will bring scattered showers mainly to windward and mauka portions of most islands from Kau'ai to Maui, the National Weather Service said.

Showers generated by the weakening shear line are expected to reach the Big Island by tonight, forecasters said.

Circulation around a low-level, low-pressure area far north-northwest of the state will keep moderate northeasterly winds blowing across the islands through tomorrow.

The weather should shift to a more typical trade wind pattern during the weekend.
