Catholics present program on AIDS

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu's office of social ministry and the Manoa Punahou Catholic Community's AIDS ministry is hosting "A Christian Response to AIDS in Hawai'i," a gathering with prayer, testimonies and a video presentation.
The free program will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, 712 N. School St.

ORDAINED APOSTLE VISITING HAWAI'I
Susan Skoor, a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Community of Christ church, is visiting Hawai'i for the first time.
She'll be at the 10:30 a.m. Oct. 14 service at Makiki Community of Christ, 1666 Mott-Smith Drive, just below Roosevelt High School.
Skoor, assigned to the Pacific Mission Field, was ordained an apostle in June 2005. Community of Christ International Headquarters is located in Independence, Mo.

NEW HOPE HOLDS SERVICES AT SCHOOL
New Hope, a Foursquare denomination, will begin holding services at 10 a.m. Sunday at Kailua High School.
New Hope Kailua's Sunday service includes a children's church and fellowship group for teens in middle and high school; there's also a 6:30 p.m. Wednesday service.

CHOIR PRESENTS CHORAL EVENSONG
St. Andrew's Cathedral Choir, under the baton of director of music John Renke, will present Choral Evensong, featuring organ music, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
On the menu for this session of the recurring event is organ music of Mendelssohn and choral music of Edward C. Bairstow, Herbert Sumsion and George C. Martin.
