Honolulu Advertiser President and Publisher Lee Webber has named Mark Platte, Mike Cusato and Richard Fuke senior vice presidents. Platte is editor of The Advertiser and Fuke is head of finance. Cusato, who was vice president of circulation, becomes senior vice president of operations and will oversee all production operations. Jason Taylor was named senior vice president of sales and marketing in June.

SEA LIFE PARK

Sea Life Park by Dolphin Discovery has added five new executives to its sales and marketing team.

Kazuya Ujihara is the new director of eastbound sales, handling eastbound and Asia markets. He has more than 20 years of travel and hospitality industry experience, and was most recently director of Asia sales distribution for ResortQuest Hawai'i.

Sara Beth Newell, former regional sales manager for the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California, was named westbound sales manager. The 10-year sales and marketing veteran, with a strong background in leisure and corporate travel, will handle all westbound markets, as the meetings market, special events and all Web companies that feature and sell the park's programs.

Matt Cosbie, a new westbound sales executive, will work with wholesalers from the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe, and help coordinate meetings, incentive and convention group commitments made for the park or its lu'au.

John Hobus, new independent sales manager, will handle the independent market comprised of hotels, concierges and travel desks, as well as military, retail travel desks and kama'aina sales. He is a past commercial account executive with KCCN FM 100 radio and KHNL-K5 TV.

Bernie Souza, new independent markets sales account executive, will deal with travel and concierge desks in the independent and military O'ahu markets. She is a former Sheraton Hotels senior reservations agent.

Sea Life Park, acquired in 2005 by Dolphin Discovery, is a major O'ahu visitor attraction and a worldwide marine life research center.

TERRITORIAL SAVINGS BANK

Territorial Savings Bank has named two co-chief operating officers: Ralph Nakatsuka and Vernon Hirata, both bank vice chairmen. Nakatsuka, a veteran of both finance and lending, will be responsible for those functions at the bank. Before joining Territorial, he was executive vice president/lending at American Savings Bank. Twenty-year Territorial veteran Hirata was promoted from executive vice president, legal counsel. He will continue as its general counsel and corporate secretary.

FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK

Karen Walker has been named manager of the First Hawaiian Bank Mortgage Banking Department. She previously held management positions at TransAmerica Financial Services, Washington Mutual Bank and Countrywide Home Loans. First Hawaiian Bank, Hawai'i's oldest and largest bank, has 57 branches in Hawai'i, three on Guam and two on Saipan. It is a subsidiary of BancWest Corp.
