The first preliminary round of the 54th annual Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contest will be Saturday at Pearlridge Center.

The preliminary contest for O'ahu toddlers will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pearlridge's Uptown Center Court.

The competition, sponsored by Meadow Gold and coordinated by the Honolulu Chinese Jaycees, is meant to promote good health and nutrition.

The final competition will be at Ala Moana's Centerstage on Sept. 22.

Contestants will have a chance to win prizes, including a $2,500 U.S. savings bond.
