PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Packing the car and driving off on cut day typically isn't something PGA Tour players enjoy.

It was different in Daniel Chopra's case yesterday.

Chopra fired his second straight bogey-free round, a 7-under 66, to get to 13 under and within one shot of leaders Bob Estes and Tommy Armour III in the suspended second round of the rain-soaked Ginn sur Mer Classic.

"If I play the way I'm playing right now I can win this week," Chopra said. "I have two more days to keep continuing this kind of form. But, obviously, it becomes more and more difficult as the week goes on."

Estes and Armour shot 68s after identical 64s on Thursday.

The tournament is about 2 hours from Chopra's Orlando home, so he decided to head there for dinner and a good night's sleep. He'll return today, set to resume the quest for his first tour win.

"When I get back home tonight, I'm going to be as far away from golf as I possibly can be," Chopra said. "I'll be home. I'll watch my own TV on my own couch. I'll eat my wife's great cooking. She'll make a great meal. It just makes you feel a lot more relaxed."

Play was delayed an hour at the start by rain and the round was suspended at 5:39 p.m. (EST) after another squall moved into the area. None of the players with afternoon starting times finished, meaning 64 will complete the round this morning.

Weather permitting, that is. More rain was expected overnight.

Hawai'i's Parker McLachlin, a Punahou alum and an early starter yesterday, fired a 5-under 68 and is in a group of four at 7-under 139.

ELSEWHERE

Honda LPGA Thailand: Suzann Pettersen holed a 115-yard wedge shot for eagle-2 on the par-4 13th and birdied the 18th for a 4-under 68 to maintain a two-stroke lead in the Honda LPGA Thailand at Pattaya.

Chasing her third victory in four weeks, Pettersen is at 11-under 133 after two warm days at Siam Country Club. Canadian Alena Sharp, winless in two full seasons on the tour, matched Pettersen's 68 and is second at 135.

Charles Schwab Cup Championship: Eduardo Romero fired a 4-under 68 for a one-stroke advantage over Denis Watson and Jim Thorpe after two rounds of the Champions Tour's season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Sonoma, Calif.

Romero, the Argentine star who won the 2006 JELD-WEN Tradition for his lone title on the 50-and-over tour, is at 12-under 132 total on the Sonoma Golf Club course. Watson shot a 64, and Thorpe, the 2003 and 2006 winner, had a 69.

Mallorca Classic: Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen and France's Jean-Francois shot 5-under 65s to share the lead in the Mallorca Classic at Son Servera, Mallorca, with 54 players unable to complete the second round because of darkness.

Derksen and Lucquin were at 9-under 131 on the Pula Golf Club course. Thunderstorms halted the first round Thursday with 60 players still on the course.
