Peace group to meet at Gedatsu

The Hawaii Conference of Religions for Peace will hold an event at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Gedatsu Church of Hawaii, 6095 Summer St.
It will include peace prayers by various faith leaders, a keynote address by Michael North and information about the Hawai'i International Forgiveness Project.
After the free program will be drinks and pupus.

WALK THE TALK TO HELP HOMELESS
Hawaii Helping the Hungry Have Hope will hold its third annual Walk the Talk — Shelter the People, a 10-day, 140-mile walk around the island Nov. 7-16.
Group founder Utu Langi leads the walk, which kicks off at 8 a.m. Nov. 7. The event raises funds for homeless issues and includes evening "talk story" sessions at 10 area churches.

FREE LECTURE BY UNIVERSITY HEAD
Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii and the Hawai'i branch of Ryukoku University Alumni Association present a free lecture by Dosho Wakahara, the president of Ryukoku University in Kyoto, Japan, on "Buddhist Culture and Social Welfare."
The lecture will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Buddhist Study Center, 1436 University Ave. The talk is free; lunch will be $7.

WORKSHOP AT UNITY CHURCH
Terry McBride will give a workshop, "The Joy and Wonder of Choice" at 1 p.m. Nov. 4 and 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the chapel of Unity Church of Hawaii, 3608 Diamond Head Circle.
McBride, an author, focuses on freeing oneself of the negative baggage of anger, fear and unworthiness. He'll also speak at the Nov. 5 services.
