Locally owned and managed Island Insurance Co. Ltd. has named two assistant vice presidents in its Claims Division:
Daniel Hamada was appointed assistant vice president, claims supervisor — property, appraisal, subrogation. He will continue to be responsible for directing, administering, coordinating and managing activities of the auto appraisal, property and subrogation claim units. He will also be responsible for developing or modifying new or existing auto appraisal, property and subrogation claim handling services. Before joining Island Insurance, the claims-industry veteran of more than 17 years was a claims representative for TIG Insurance.
Dexter Ego, named assistant vice president, senior field specialist, will continue to be responsible for handling claims from first notice to final disposition. His duties also include coverage analysis, investigation, litigation management, and negotiation of the more complex and severe injury cases. The claims veteran of more than 19 years was an auto and home liability claims adjuster at Allstate Insurance before joining Island Insurance.
PROSERVICE HAWAII
ProService Hawaii has promoted Bryan Knight to the new position of director of onboarding. He was previously senior account manager.
"Onboarding" is ProService's term for the process of transitioning new small business clients into the ProService system and setting them up with their tailored package of HR services. Knight joined ProService Hawaii in 2005 as sales coordinator. Prior to that he was a supervisor for the Loewe and Fendi stores for LV Hawaii.
ProService Hawaii is a state leader in outsourced employee administration.
KAIMUKI BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION
Sharon Ogata has been named vice president of the Kaimuki Business and Professional Association.
Ogata is the chief operating officer of the Honolulu Board of Realtors. As vice president of the Kaimuki association, Ogato will support all KBPA committees, including the three that she personally oversees — Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila, vendor and the group's installation banquet.
Since 1946, the association has been promoting local business in Kaimuki through business networking, membership meetings, business directory, newsletters and continuous work with the community.
