Numerous violations draw fines

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Liquor Commission last week fined the owner of Best Market for a variety of violations.

The owner of Best Market pleaded no contest and was fined $250 for displaying liquor in an area not authorized by the commission.

Best Market also was fined $350 for failing to have a duly registered manager or assistant manager assigned to the licensed premises.

An additional fine of $500 was levied for transferring its business to another person without the commission's approval.

The commission also postponed several other cases.

Cases against the owner of Club Romantei were continued until the next available setting.

Allegations against the club included allowing the fondling of customers, failing to ensure employees have their certificate of registration available for inspection while on duty, and employee consumption of liquor while on duty.

The cases against Club Golden Gate were continued to Nov. 29.

Allegations against the club included having a nonregistered employee, allowing the fondling of customers, employee consumption of liquor, and failing to ensure that employees have their certificate of registration available for inspection while on duty.
