Students on Maui and Moloka'i will learn the importance of practicing an escape plan and other fire safety measures at a series of Fire Prevention Week events this month.

The county Fire Prevention Bureau will present a fire safety skit and demonstrations of fire and rescue equipment from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11 at the War Memorial Complex and Oct. 19 at the Lahaina Recreation Center. The wet finale will feature a cooling spray from a fire hose.

A similar event will be held Oct. 25 at the Kaunakakai Ball Field on Moloka'i.
