Frank Lickliter II shot his second straight 10-under 62 yesterday at Orange County National to take a nine-stroke lead after the second of six rounds in the PGA Tour National Qualifying Tournament in Winter Garden, Fla.

The 38-year-old Lickliter, a two-time winner on the tour, had an eagle, nine birdies and a bogey. His 20-under 124 total is the lowest two-round score in the event since the tour began keeping such statistics in 1992.

Zimbabwe's Brendon de Jonge (71) and Jason Allred (67) were second at 11 under.

Parker McLachlin, a former Honolulu resident and Punahou School alum, shot a 1-under 71 for a two-round total of 141. He is tied with 16 others for 72nd place.

The top 25 finishers and ties earn 2008 PGA Tour cards, while the next group of players nearest 50 will get full Nationwide Tour exemptions. The remaining players in the 166-man field will receive conditional Nationwide Tour status.

PARK LEADS BY THREE

Jane Park shot a 2-under 70 yesterday at LPGA International to increase her lead to three strokes over Kelli Kuehne after the second round of the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament at Daytona Beach, Fla.

Park, the 2004 U.S. Women's Amateur winner, has a 9-under 135 total. Kuehne shot a 71.

Maui's Shayna Miyajima shot a 1-over 73 and is in an eight-way tie for 117th at 9-over 153.

The top 17 players Sunday after the fifth round will earn 2008 LPGA Tour cards, while the next 35 will receive conditional status.

"A 70 is definitely not 65, but I'm very pleased with my score," Park said. "I was able to pull out another sub-par round and, overall, I'm very pleased with how I played."

TIE ATOP CHALLENGE

Trevor Immelman and Adam Scott shot 5-under 67s yesterday to share the first-round lead in the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City, South Africa.

Ernie Els was two shots back in the 12-man event that offers a $1.2 million first-place prize.
