HYATT REGENCY MAUI RESORT AND SPA

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has named Joseph Medwetz as director of group sales. In his new role, Medwetz is responsible for directing group sales efforts. Medwetz has been with the Maui resort for more than two years, coming from the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, where he assisted with managing and directing sales.

LIMTIACO CO.

The Limtiaco Co. has hired Angela Keen as senior account executive. Keen will strategize editorial direction and provide advisement and oversight on media relations, including media training. Prior to joining The Limtiaco Co., Keen was co-host and weathercaster for KHNL News 8 Today.

EAST-WEST CENTER

Derek Ferrar has been named media relations specialist for the East-West Center. As a member of the Office of External Affairs staff, he will be writing articles for the center's news-wire and Web site, handling news releases and media inquiries, connecting journalists with expert sources on Asia-Pacific issues and otherwise facilitating the dissemination of East-West Center programs, activities and resources through the media. He was most recently a public information specialist with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.

ALOHA UNITED WAY

Aloha United Way has promoted Naomi Amuro to assistant vice president of community building. She will be responsible for managing Aloha United Way's Donor Choice Program as well as administering the Emergency Food and Shelter and Combined Federal Campaign efforts. Amuro will also collect and report program outcomes delivered by AUW partner agencies.

Lena Staton was recently hired as AFL-CIO community services liaison in partnership with Maui United Way. In this capacity, she will act as liaison between Maui United Way and labor organizations. She assists with the Maui United Way campaign and conducts numerous community service projects.
