University of Hawai'i pitcher/designated player Kate Robinson and third baseman Clare Warwick were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America second team, while first baseman Tyleen Tausaga was a third-team pick.

The three selections are the most UH has had in one year.

"I still think it's weird, I didn't plan for this at the beginning of the season," Robinson said. "Everything just kind of unfolded for me and the team. It really hasn't hit me yet that I've gotten (the award), but it's nice to be recognized.

"Our team had so many good players and even though we didn't make it as far as we wanted to, just to get recognition with the top teams and top players, it is a little bit of validation for me and the team."

Tausaga was the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Robinson was the WAC Pitcher of the Year.

Robinson led the team with a school-record 19 home runs and 72 RBIs, and was 17-1 as a pitcher, with a 2.01 ERA.

Tausaga batted .402, with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs. Warwick batted .375 with 10 doubles, five home runs and 22 RBIs.

Hawai'i (50-13) was a win away from the College World Series, falling to Tennessee in a best two of three Super Regional last week.
