Beach cleanup set for June 8

B.E.A.C.H, Malama Maunalua, Livable Hawai'i Kai Hui and the East Honolulu Hui are looking for volunteers for a beach cleanup at Kawaiku'i Beach Park in 'Aina Haina to remove invasive algae, litter and marine debris in honor of World Ocean Day, 3 to 5 p.m. June 8.

Bags, gloves and water will be provided, but each volunteer should bring a hat and sunscreen and wear sturdy shoes. A rake and a bucket would come in handy.

A drawing will be held for volunteers, with prizes from Ben & Jerry's, Green Sak and Kale's Natural Foods.
