TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Hidden Palms" debut, 7 p.m., CW/KHONDT2 digital 93. Kevin Williamson is back to his "Dawson's Creek" turf — angst among pretty teens in pretty places. Johnny went into a tailspin after his dad killed himself. Now, semi-recovered from drugs and alcohol, he has moved to Palm Springs with his mother. He promptly finds secrets, including a tragedy that happened in his new home. Other teens include a scheming neighbor boy, a bikini beauty and a girl who turns her garage into a science project. Williamson is a master of smart dialogue, but he also fumbles here. There are few likable characters; also, some of the actors don't even come close to being teens. Michael Cassidy, 24, can't convince us that Cliff is a high school junior.

"Traveler," 8 and 9 p.m., ABC. The pilot film, which aired as a sneak preview earlier this month, was terrific. It threw two almost-ordinary guys into a rush from the law. We won't spoil any of that because the pilot reruns first. In a new episode at 9 p.m., they find a flawed sort of sanctuary.

OF NOTE

"War Wounds: Women Fighting On," 7 p.m., TLC. One mother sums it up solemnly: "Americans are not ready to see broken females from their wars." She may be right. This is an involving and disturbing look at three women severely wounded in Iraq. One, 21, gets intense help from her mom. Another, 31, plunges into her passion for kayaking. A third, 40, is a single mom with three kids, one of them autistic.

"Craft in America," 8-11 p.m., PBS. Over three hours, we'll meet jewelers, ceramicists, metalsmiths, potters, a furniture maker and a basketmaker. People still do make things with their hands, it seems.

"Most Outrageous TV Moments," 7 p.m., NBC. Here are four straight reruns of odd things on tape. Chances are, few people will be torn between this and "Craft in America."

"So You Think You Can Dance," 7 p.m., Fox. This well-made reality show spends tonight on dance auditions in Los Angeles and Chicago.

"The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?" debut, 7 p.m., ABC. Yes, two reality competition shows are colliding. That happens nowadays.

"Criminal Minds," 8 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, an arsonist is striking expensive homes when the families are asleep.

"CSI: NY," 9 p.m., CBS. This rerun has a female impersonator killed, shortly after confronting a congressman.

"Medium," 9 p.m., NBC. Allison is surprised when a ghost doesn't want her to find who the killer is. Usually, ghosts appreciate that information.
