Honolulu Rainbow film Festival Schedule

The 18th annual Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival, formerly known as the Adam Baran Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, continues through Sunday. Tickets are $10 per screening unless otherwise noted; festival passes also are available (www.hglcf.org, 381-1952).

TODAY

At the Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts

  • "The Year of Paper" (2007, USA; 92 minutes), 4 p.m. Free admission. See story above.

    This film is preceded by "We Belong" (2006, USA; 11 minutes). Two rural teenagers stand up against harassment and homophobia.

  • "A Four Letter Word" (2007; 85 minutes), 6 p.m. See above.

  • "Nina's Heavenly Delights" (2007, Scotlan; 94 minutes), 8 p.m. See above.

    This film is preceded by "Finding Llorona (The Weeping Woman)" (2006, Canada; 22 minutes). Sofia meets her musical idol.

  • "Kate Clinton: 25th Anniversary Tour" (2007, USA; 62 minutes), 4 p.m.

    World premiere of a concert/documentary about comedian Kate Clinton.

    This film is preceded by "The Quitter" (2006, USA; 5 minutes). What happens when your girlfriend demands that you quit smoking?

  • Gala benefit. $40 advance, $45 at the door for the gala/auction and a film ($10 extra for both films), $10 per film only. From 5:45 p.m.

    "Laughing Matters ... The Men" (2007, USA; 82 minutes). Focusing on several gay comic writers and performers.

    Silent auction begins at 7 p.m., with pupu, drinks, entertainment, special guests and keynote speaker Kim Coco Iwamoto.

    "Out Running: Stories from the Campaign Trail" (2007, USA; 22 minutes), 9 p.m. Student filmmakers follow openly LGBT elected officials. A world premiere.

    "Oh Mary!" (2007, USA; 6 minutes). A housewife wakes up to find a vision of the Virgin Mary in her life.

    "Alexis Arquette: She's My Brother" (2007, UK; 71 minutes).
