Emily Rose Boring of Honolulu celebrated her first birthday on April 14 with a party attended by her grandmother, Betty, and hosted by her parents, Russ and Susan Boring. Emily's father, a member of the Air Force, was out of town on the 14th, so a second party was held April 28. Emily was born April 14, 2006.

Ruth and Robert Stewart of Wahiawa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 24 with a cruise to the Bahamas. Robert is retired from the Army and from teaching. Ruth is a retired teacher. The Stewarts still serve as substitute teachers. They have five children and six grandchildren. The couple married on Feb. 23, 1957, in New York City.
