The Waimea War Memorial Swimming Pool at Waimea High School will close for several months starting April 1 for complete renovation.

Contractors expect to retile the pool, replace the coping around the entire pool deck, replace the chlorination and filtration systems, overhaul gutter and plumbing systems and install five rows of aluminum bleachers.

When the pool reopens, swimmers will find new lane cup anchors, new starting blocks, stainless steel ladders and an access lift for swimmers with disabilities.
