The Music Foundation of Hawai'i's second annual Legacy Awards, acknowledging long-time achievement and accomplishment in Island music and recording, will be held Wednesday in the Royal Hawaiian hotel's Monarch Room.

The evening begins at 5 p.m. with cocktails and registration, followed at 6 p.m. by dinner and a show. Dance music, featuring the University of Hawai'i Jazz Ensemble and singer Sonya Mendez, will be from 9 p.m.

The Legacy Awards will be bestowed on the following:

  • Lifetime achievement: Gabe Baltazar, saxophonist.

  • Best of show: Andy Bumatai, comedian.

  • Entertainer: Danny Kaleikini, veteran Kahala Hilton headliner.

  • Male vocalist: Palani Vaughan, Kalakaua-era authority.

  • Female vocalist: Nina Keali'iwahamana, soprano.

  • Musical group: Makaha Sons.

  • Loyal Garner award: Hawaiian Music Foundation.

  • Professional services award: Kika Productions.

  • Young entrepreneurial award: Peter Dods, Easy Music.

  • Posthumous award: Alex Anderson, composer.

  • Governor Lingle's Fine Arts Award: Henry Miyamura, bandmaster.

  • Mayor's Performing Arts Award: Karen Keawehawai'i.

  • Legacy Performing Arts Award: Carolyn Berry, arts supporter .

    Gov. Linda Lingle and Mayor Mufi Hannemann are expected to attend to present their awards.
