Twenty-one students from Wai'anae High School's noted Searider Productions have returned home after attending the 2007 Student Television Network convention in Anaheim, Calif., March 7-10.
Seariders took second place in the event's Sweet 16 competition in which the staff had 16 hours to produce a 30-minute show around the theme of inspiration, said Searider adviser Lorraine Gershun.
The students attended sessions and competed to hone their broadcast journalism and video production skills.
Some 100 students from five Hawai'i schools joined thousands of Mainland teenagers for the convention.
