TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"American Idol," 7 p.m., Fox. After some odd weeks, the show settles into its regular form: Everyone sings Tuesday; one person is ousted Wednesday. That starts with 12 people and the extra length. For a while, we can mostly expect guys to go.
"American Heiress" debut, 7 p.m., MyNetwork (KFVE). The new plan for this struggling network has mixed martial arts on Mondays and movies on many days. The two new, 65-hour telenovelas will air weekly, in two-hour chunks, starting tonight. Imagine that the good Hilton sister (there is one, isn't there?) is in a plane crash in the Guatemalan jungle. She survives, with one perky scratch; also surviving are her five suitcases and a pilot who is handsome and perkily scratched. Back home, the bad Hilton-like sister parties, while their dad lingers near death. A good brother frets; a bad one schemes. The bad sister (played by Annalynne McCord) is absurdly over the top, but the good one is well-played by Alicia Leigh Willis. Ignore some awful early war scenes and enjoy the lost-in-the-jungle repartee.
OF NOTE
"Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll," 6 p.m., CW (digital cable channel 93). The final nine have been chosen now, so the regular judges arrive. Singer Lil' Kim, record-label chief Ron Fair and Pussycat founder Robin Antin trim the field from nine to eight.
"Axis of Evil Comedy Tour," 7 p.m., Comedy Central. If you missed this special Saturday, here's a second chance. Four stand-up comics with Middle Eastern roots offer witty outlooks.
"Bullrun" debut, 7 p.m., Spike TV. Imagine an "Amazing Race" run strictly on gasoline and testosterone. Bill Goldberg — a former wrestler and football player who happens to be a car buff and a smart guy — hosts the 4,000-mile road race. The duos (mostly male) are shown mocking women a little and rural people a lot. Some help each other; one guy buys every map in a store, so the others can't get one. In between, there's lots of high-octane footage of cars zooming.
"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 8 p.m., NBC. Brooke Shields plays a supermodel (appropriately) in this rerun. Her husband is linked to a slain teenage party girl.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. After a woman's body is found, there are plenty of suspects and guest roles in this rerun. Chris Sarandon is the husband, Bob Saget and Catherine Bell are associates and Bernadette Peters is a defense lawyer.
"Boston Legal," 9 p.m., ABC. Wrapping up a two-part rerun, Shirley (Candice Bergen) has been kidnapped by the creepy Lincoln Meyer. Meanwhile, Jerry tries a case with Alan and they bond over cigars, making Denny jealous.
