Students' works hits runway

At O Lounge's Style and Sin party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. today, 13 aspiring fashion designers from the UH-Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources apparel product design and merchandising program will show their stuff in a "Centennial Seven" fashion show. The late-night fundraiser for the students' graduation show includes drink specials, live music and a DJ. Attendees are asked to wear red and black. Student fashions take the stage at 10:30 p.m. Price: $10 at the door. The O Lounge: 1349 Kapi'olani Blvd.

HAWAI'I SPOTS REAP HONORS

Two Hawai'i spots are winners of Sunset.com's 2007 Environmental Awards: Waimea Valley Audubon Center, which shelters species such as the Hawaiian moorhen and the koki'o hibiscus; and Papahanaumokuakea, the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands National Monument, one of the planet's largest acts of conservation.
