American Box Car Racing International is offering a free summer youth program at its track in Kunia, next to the Royal Kunia Park and Ride in Waipahu.

The program, which is underway, offers sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from noon to 4 p.m. through July 27.

The program is for children ages 9 and up. Youths must wear shoes and long pants that cover the ankles. Participants must also bring their own lunch and parents must arrange on time drop off and pickup.

TRIATHLON

NORTH SHORE EVENT SUNDAY MORNING

The BikeFactory North Shore Triathlon is Sunday, with the swim portion starting at 6 a.m. at Mokule'ia Beach Park.

Day of event registration is $85 for individuals and $120 for teams.

The race consists of a 400-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run.
