Gas prices tops in nation again

Hawai'i's pump prices are once again the highest in the nation at $3.399 a gallon for regular, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
That tops California's average of $3.301 a gallon. Honolulu drivers yesterday paid an average of $3.315 a gallon for regular.
GO! FLIGHTS 63.3% FULL LAST MONTH
Interisland carrier go! said its planes flew less than two-thirds full in May.
The airline, a unit of Phoenix-based Mesa Air Group, said it flew a total of 57,935 passengers last month, giving it a load factor of 63.3 percent.
go!, which began flying June 9, 2006, also said that it generated a total of 8.3 million revenue passenger miles in May.
BIOENERGY GROUP GAINS MEMBER
A Hawai'i partnership that includes three of the state's largest landowners has gained a San Diego-based venture capital company as a member and investor.
Hawai'i BioEnergy LLC said Finistere Ventures LLC, a life sciences venture capital firm that specializes in agricultural biotechnology and renewable energy, will lend its expertise in development of biomass and investment in agriculture and renewable energy.
The partnership was formed last year by Maui Land & Pineapple Co., Kamehameha Schools and Grove Farm. Among its goals is helping the state replace "imported fossil fuel with locally produced energy sources and the rebirth of large-scale agriculture."
MICROSOFT PLUGS SECURITY PATCHES
Microsoft Corp. released four critical patches yesterday to close security holes in several versions of its Windows operating system, Internet Explorer Web browser and other programs.
The patches, which carried Microsoft's highest security warning, all are to prevent malicious hackers from remotely taking control of computers without permission.
