Philip K. White & Associates has promoted architect LAURA AYERS to associate and welcomes architect ED ENGLISH to its team. Ayers is now an associate project architect. She has been with the firm for six years and has managed several commercial and high-end residential projects. English is a project manager. He is former project director for Architects Hawaii.
JIM STREMICK has been appointed director for Prime Care Services Hawaii. He will oversee the clinical operations and quality initiatives of the company. He has been working with knee and joint orthopedic patients, improving rehab potential to an independent level. Also, CINDY KAWASAKI has been appointed nurse manager of the company. She is a certified oncology nurse with many years of experience as a case manager.
Tom Johnson has been named director and operations manager for Camber Corporation's Asia-Pacific office in Honolulu. A retired U.S. Army colonel, Johnson has been working for Camber at U.S. Pacific Command for the past three years. Camber, an employee-owned company headquartered in Huntsville, Ala., is a defense contractor focused on national preparedness, serving military as well as state and local government clients.
LINDY O'SHEA has been appointed to the position of assistant vice president/director of support services for NorthStar. She is overseeing multiple divisions of the company, including management of administrative staff and oversight of the marketing and recruiting departments. NorthStar offers comprehensive one-stop local services for the real-estate industry.
Roberts Hawaii has hired SANDI WILLIAMS as creator and manager of new sales accounts covering destination management companies and hotel conferences and conventions. Also hired were Normand Robert, manager of sales and reservations agents; BLAKE HIGA, coordinator and manager of the company's vehicular operations; MICAH CHINEN, creator and manager of new sales accounts; STEPHEN LOPAZ, data marketing analyst responsible for the company's market intelligence and database management; and JASON KANESHIRO, senior system engineer responsible for data center administration and help desk support.
Summa Hawaii has promoted KATHRYN "KATHY" MURATA as its new tracking and logistic specialist. She will oversee the firm's procurement system, tracking purchases for the state's only one-stop, full-service provider for all procurement, project management and consulting services for hotels, resorts, condotels and timeshares.
TIMOTHY O'LEARY has been appointed president of Home Loans Direct, a full service residential mortgage provider. Previously, he was branch manager for Countrywide Home Loans, where he was in charge of overseeing all operations of the company's O'ahu and Kaua'i branches.
Princeville Associates has announced that JAY FURFARO, general manager for operations at Princeville Resort, has completed his two-year term with the resort, during which he oversaw the resort's transition of ownership. Furfaro plans to reactivate his consulting firm, Hospitality Concepts, Ltd., and continue to provide consulting services to Princeville in such areas as human resources, hospitality, leadership training and developing a "sense of place."
Nishihama & Kishida, CPAs, Inc., has announced the promotions of both Jung Kusuda and Oanh Hayden to audit seniors. Kusuda received her bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. Prior to joining the firm, she served as an account clerk for a nonprofit organization. Hayden received her bachelor of business administration degree from Beijing University in China and her master of accountancy from UH-Manoa.
